200 Eyes for an Eye: Iraq and 9/11 Vietnam Memorial: a thought experiment. In 1989, I co-authored Seeing Double, A Middle Eastern Comedy of Error with Joan Holden and the San Francisco Mime Troupe. (Read the New York Times review.) In 2016-2018, I worked with Sinai Peter, Hanna Eady, and Joan Holden on an update. Read about it. Unfortunately, we were not able to pull this off. |

From 2002 to 2009, I was on the Board of Jewish Voice for Peace, a diverse organization inspired by Jewish tradition to work for a just resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on human rights and international law. In July 2007, I was interviewed about JVP for the Arab American News, a Detroit weekly. My op ed in the San Jose Mercury News during the Israeli attack on Lebanon (August 2006), and some of the responses it generated. A fund-raising letter I wrote for JVP (Fall 2005). Excerpts from the program book of JVP's Olive Branch Awards Dinner, which I edited (May 2005). An article I wrote for JVP's book Reframing Anti-Semitism (2003) about charges that were leveled at the anti-war movement during the buildup for the war on Iraq. (I co-edited the book.) In 2017, JVP published a much more substantial book on this topic. Do Jews Support War Crimes? My speech in front of the Israeli Consulate after the re-invasion of the West Bank, April 11, 2002. A letter to my friends, on the same subject. Support Israel? Not in our name! A statement by French Jewish intellectuals, April 4, 2002. (I did the translation.) |
